The Splendour Of Hope
Prologue
Hope and fear are such forces which keep man engaged in mundane matters. If he forsakes them then it is ,as if he has lost his work and strength from his own hands, because the fear of destruction and perdition keeps him aloof from indolence and indifference while the hope of success and achivement induces him for endeavorsand exertions. Thus hope and fear bear surprising effects. The holy quran had proclaimed that these two forces were the very foundation of prophetic missions:
"And We have not send Messengers but as Warners and as givers of glad tidings" (Anam:48)
The argument regarding belief in Mahadaviyat pertains to the hopeful future, whose occurence is ineviatable in the history of mankind with it’s distinct characteristic. At that time tyranny , oppression and imperialism will be uprooted and humanity under the leadership of chaste and immaculate leader along with pious and virtuous crusaders will attain the Zenith of perfection.
The Divine voice has addressed all the expectant hearts thus:
"And indeed We have mentioned in Psalms after the first reminder that surely Our righteous servants shall inherit the land" (Anbiya:105)
"And We intend to favour those who were weakened on the earth. We will make them leaders and we will make them heirs (of the earth)" (Qasas:4)
According to shi’ite belief, if hither to these promises of God have not materialized, then it is due to the Divine Discretion. Hence any time in future it may come to pass and in the Light of this divine religion, under the leadership of an impeccable leader,the Universal Islamic Goverment will be established.
Such sort of glad-tidings and admonitions became the source for successful advancement of Shias on the dreadful and tempestuous path of history with steadfastness and graet expection.On this basis, the debate and discussion regarding Imam Mahdi (a.s)is of paramount importance .The innumerable books and disquisitions of Shias, on the subject, in the past tewelve centuries hint towards this fac.
Since ages, the enimies of Islam are contemplating to extricate the belief inHazrat Mahdi (A.S) from the hearts of beleivers. In order to achieve their nasty aim,they left no stone unturned, like accusing, calumniating, oppressing and inflicting several types of tortures upon the people. As a result, even religious Muslim or better to say every few of them, seldom discuss on the matter. Instead they cast a superficial glance on the subject and move future common infact they attempt their best to refrain from such contravesial matters. Hence it is imperative upon the veritable beleif to obstains from slackness and sluggishness in recognizing this beleif and also exhort others to do the same.
From the following few arguments we will try to eluicidate the truth of this Beleif in the light of Knowledge and rational principles so that those who deny this beleif may come to the right path and those who already beleive in it may up hoald it more firmly. Thus the soldiers of Imam Mahdi (a.s) may be equipped with the weapons of reason
